Wentworth from Cermak to 24th Place
Neighborhood Festival featuring: A Lion Dance procession at 12:30 p.m., welcome at 1 p.m. starts at the Main Stage (23rd St. & Wentworth Ave.) with Asian cultural entertainment and live music. A taste of Chinatown’s many restaurants, local unique gift shops, Chinese art’s and craft’s exhibit, street vendors with an array of merchandise and a children’s area (24th Place & Wentworth) for a day long family event.

2008 Chicago Dragon Boat Race for Literacy
Dragon Boat Race
Come and experience the excitement as teams compete in a fast paced race along the south branch of the Chicago River at Ping Tom Memorial Park on beautifully decorated dragon boats.

Explore music, food and crafts as well as performances from cultural centers all across Chicago. Each year, approximately 10,000 visitors attend this enjoyable day-long event.

Take part in this fun-filled day by signing up as an Event Sponsor, Vendor/Exhibitor, or create your own Dragon Boat Racing Team. Team registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.

This will be the 8th year of the Chicago Dragon Boat Race for Literacy presented by the Chicago Chinatown Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the City of Chicago and the Chicago Park District. This year’s event is sponsored by American Family Insurance.

Proceeds of this year’s race will go to the Chicago Public School system, Office of Culture and Diversity in the Chicago Board of Education to help promote culture and diversity in our fine schools.

The Chamber always appreciates your participation and support! We look forward to seeing you at the Dragon Boat Race for Literacy.
